License & Contracting – November 2019
November 11, 2019
Because November is National Long-Term Care Awareness Month, what better time to talk about long-term care (LTC) training? We have several carriers that have products with built-in LTC benefits, or an LTC rider can be added to the policy at application.
However, before the application can be signed by the client, the agent must complete LTC training. LTC training has to be completed every two years or license renewal period. Almost all states require an eight-hour initial course and then four hours every two years or renewal period.
Along with LTC training, the agent is required to have a Life and Health line of authority on their license. This applies to an agency accepting business on behalf of the writing agent. If you are writing in the states of Indiana, Illinois and Virginia, and your LTC training lapses, you will have to retake the initial eight-hour course.
AE Life uses the LTC training vendor WebCE for our agents. WebCE is accepted by all our carriers.
If you have any questions regarding LTC training, please email or call your Life Licensing team, who is ready to help you through the process.
