Give Your Clients a Reality Check!

September is Life Insurance Awareness Month, and this year’s COVID-19 outbreak makes it more critical than ever to talk with every client and prospect about life insurance.

When the industry-funded education group Life Happens conducted a survey of American consumers last May and June, 67% said that the pandemic had prompted them to examine their finances, and 30% said life insurance has been a key topic of family conversations.

The theme of this year’s Life Insurance Awareness Month campaign is “Reality Check: The Time for Life Insurance Is Now,” a fitting tribute to this anxious era we’re living in. To find relevant, ready-to-go life insurance content for your firm’s newsletters, eblasts, social media posts and conversations, check out the Life Happens website.

Consumers want your help!

In the article, “3 Reasons Life Insurance Is a Key Topic During COVID-19,” Life Happens president and CEO Faisa Stafford, LUTCF, SHRM-SCP, notes how hungry consumers are for life insurance information during the pandemic. According to Stafford, three of the most urgent questions consumers have about life insurance include:

  1. Whether a life insurance policy will pay out following a death due to COVID-19
  2. How to obtain a life insurance policy during COVID-19
  3. How to save money on life insurance

You can help clients and prospects address these questions and be a voice for calm in the uncertainty. Another good resource for consumer content is Life Happens’ Virtual Success Toolkit, featuring:

  • New graphics and videos (with messages by LIAM 2020 spokesperson Brooke Shields)
  • Consumer articles on life insurance
  • On-demand webinars
  • Stories on the real-life impact of life insurance
