Season of Sharing is a community effort to support individuals and families in need in the Topeka community during the holidays. Our focus is to help provide services or needs not being met in individuals’ day-to-day lives. We seek to help with the requests that you typically cannot make of other holiday giving organizations.
Season of Sharing holiday applications will be accepted Oct. 14 through Nov. 1, 2024.
Go to www.ourcommunitycares.org to apply. Fill out the form to nominate yourself or someone else. Please be sure to include your contact information as well as contact information for the person you are nominating.
Please note: Hand-delivered or emailed applications are not accepted. Applications will not be taken over the phone.
Season of Sharing reserves the right to accept or deny any application that is submitted.
Applicants will be notified by phone, email or mail whether or not they have been selected by Dec. 6.
We partner with many organizations in our community to best accommodate recipients. We will work with you to find a time and place that is convenient for you.
All submissions will be taken into consideration. We look at each request on an individual basis.
Our focus is to help with unique or specialized wishes which will have a big impact on the quality of life of the recipient. We seek to help meet the needs of the recipient that are currently not being met and are typically not granted by other giving programs. This can include essential items such as medical equipment not covered by insurance, assistive devices or other items to meet educational needs for students, and home modification for safety and accessibility reasons.
We are unable to grant requests for vehicle repairs, purchase of vehicles, repair on rental homes or for the payment of bills.
That is up to you! The application form requests permission to take photos and/or video of persons receiving gifts and to use the footage in future promotions. You will not be disqualified from consideration if you do not give permission for photos/video to be taken.
By submitting your application, you agree to undergo a required background check. Applicants give permission to collect and enter their personal/household information into ClientTrack.
